Søllested Bio, 2022
Søllested (DK)
Type:Extension and transformation / Status:Sketch project for fundraising / Commissioned by:Foreningen for Søllested Bio og Kulturhus / Collaboration:Lykke Arnfred+Nilaus Maltha Müller
Søllested Bio og Kulturhus is designed by the local architect Einar Ørnsholt in 1970 and has always served as a movie theater giving it a long history and a clear architectural vision. An addition to this completed form calls for a gentle transformation based on the exisiting qualities with raw full brick walls and facade projections. The extension creates new spaces for movie experiences, performances and social events throughout Lolland forming a unifying cultural center with two cinema halls, a filmworkshop, a public café and a garden.
